Film and Video Editing – COURSE DESCRIPTION

With advanced digital technologies, a film maker can now create anything from his or her dream. Effective Film and Video Editing is the key to this creativity.

This unique course will teach student editors and film makers the Technical capabilities and Artistic potentials of Film Editing. This course goes beyond the usual Film Editing classes which teach only how to operate the Editing Software. You will learn effective editing to tell the story visually. You will learn the various processes involved in the post production department such as creating a work space, understanding resolutions & frame rates, setting up your project, developing your editing skills, art of cuts, usage of special effects and getting the final cut.

PROJECT WORKS 
As a part of the course, the students will edit a narrative short film, documentary short film, a movie trailer and an ad film. Original footage will be provided to them. In addition to the project films, students will work on individual videos as part of regular assignments.

CERTIFICATE
Certificate will be provided on successful completion of the course and assignments.

REQUIREMENTS
No prior film making experience is needed to join this course. There is no limit on age or educational qualification to join the course.

ACCOMMODATION
Hostel facilities are available for outstation students at additional cost.
